Waterfall Creek Pecan Farm
Waterfall Creek Pecan Farm was originally devised by a man named Preston Collvin. Back in 1945, he would convert river bottoms and cotton fields alike, until he had cobbled together about 164 acres of paper shell pecans. Some of our older trees still go back to the original planting, after weathering floods, droughts and ice storms they continue to produce some of the finest pecans anywhere. The orchard has traded owners through the years and we – Keith and Ski Bateman are proudly the new owners.
At our first sighting, we knew this is where God would place us. We recently purchased Waterfall Creek Pecan Farm in July 2011. After being in the Texas panhandle for many years- the orchard called our name. So we moved from Canyon, Texas to start the next chapter of our lives. Here in Idabel, Oklahoma many natural aspects come together to provide us with an opportunity to not only have the orchard of our dreams, but to live a life we love- taking care of the land and each other. It is so awesome to see where God will direct our steps next. Walt Disney had a quote that is a vision statement for us today. “Sometimes it’s kind of fun to do the impossible”! We did not set out to own a pecan farm – but the farm captured our hearts!
Since we have taken ownership at Waterfall Creek Pecan Farm, we have been working hard to protect the appearance that all may enjoy the beauty and simplicity of the orchard. We work at maintaining a very high standard for our pecans and the other products we are producing.
